Final Reflection

Part I: Me
Photography has taught me many things about myself, like how immersed I can get into work that I enjoy. It has also taught me that I am more patient and focused than I previously thought, especially when it comes to things I enjoy and want to accomplish. My challenge this semester was time. It was difficult to try to balance all of my classes and all of the work, but it was still fun. I believe my best work this semester was the golden hour photos. During this project I had an extra amount of time to do as I pleased, so I spent it working on this. It was also my favorite project, as I love sunlight. A project I would enjoy re-doing would be the light box project. It would be fun to re-do this project because it would be nice to be able to spend more time on it and gather materials that would work better than what I had. In the future, I will always think about how the different ways I photograph something can change the meaning completely.

Part II: Photography
I believe the best way to explain the importance of light would be to show whoever you're explaining to different pictures of a single thing with different lighting. By showing them different pictures, they will personally get to experience the different effects lighting has. My favorite time to photograph is definitely golden hour. Golden hour just brings a different type of beauty to any type of photograph, and I absolutely love that beauty. When it comes to making a good photograph, one should explore different types of pictures to take and different styles to use. A good rule to follow is to take multiple pictures of the same thing. It's good to check that you're using settings that will help with photographing your subject. Lastly, a good photograph is one that makes you stop and think. Photography is a form of art, and art is meant to express a message.
